Helse og arbeidsmiljø koordinator/ Offshore Nurse

We are looking for a Helse og arbeidsmiljø koordinator/ Offshore Nurse to provide professional and responsible health care and maintain a high level of medical emergency preparedness. Contribute to ensure requirements related to potable water quality, food and hygiene. Advise, coordinate and follow up on working environment risk factors during work planning and execution in order to prevent work related illnesses or injuries. You will work in a 2-4 rotation.

Main Tasks

  • In cooperation with duty doctor carry out necessary medical examination and tests to initiate first aid and medical treatment accordingly. 
  • Provide training for first aid team and lead the team in the event of a medical emergency.
  • Replenish stock and control medicines and medical equipment, including equipment related to the emergency hospital and potential outbreak of infectious diseases and epidemics. 
  • Ensure that all medical technical equipment is maintained and calibrated according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • In the event of an infectious disease outbreak or epidemic provide medical care, isolation, and nursing of the sick, – and commence implementing infection control measures, advice and coordinate with line management, duty doctor and company doctor as needed. 
  • Carry out medical examinations to certify SAR- members.
  • Carry out regular water testing (sampling) according to plan and procedures. 
  • Provide advice and guidance to line management and work staff with regards to health risk exposure factors during planning and execution of works tasks.
  • Identification and evaluation of risk factors in the workplace (physical, psychological, chemical, biological, and ergonomic factors) 
  • Participate and contribute in Permit to Work meetings and Safe Job Analysis meetings to advise on mitigating actions according to hierarchy of controls (hereby use of Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Follow up on execution of work tasks in the field through job observations and inspections.
  • Provide information to the offshore crews (populations) based on risk assessment and mapping of the working environment
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication between onshore HWE professionals and offshore line management in matters related to working environment issues, problem solving and improvements
  • Provide advice and guidance of handling of chemicals
  • Carry out medical interview and tests as part of risk-based health examinations. Document all test results in employee’s medical record.
  • In the event of detection of signs and symptoms of possible work-related illness or injury, carry out initial interview and examination of patient.  Notify and report the results to occupational health physician and/or Company Doctor according to procedures.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, preferably with special qualification within emergency medicine.
  • Norwegian authorization
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant clinical experience 
  • Regular training to maintain skills and qualifications in general and emergency medical treatment
  • Experience with Working Environment 
  • Good communication and cooperation skills 
  • Fluent English and Norwegian skills, both verbal and written
