Vår Energi is seeking experienced geoscientists to join our subsurface teams at one of our office locations. Successful candidates will be expected to work within multi-disciplinary teams and demonstrate a proven ability to add value by integrating key subsurface data to identify and characterise opportunities at the wellbore, reservoir, field, and regional scales.

Key responsibilities

As a senior contributor within multi-disciplinary teams, you will lead, perform, and deliver the geoscience components of integrated subsurface studies to inform and support key business decisions.

Assignments may include a combination of the following:

Integrating data and interpretations from a broad range of subsurface disciplines
Developing consistent stratigraphic frameworks and depositional models to explain and predict reservoir facies distribution and quality
Conducting seismic interpretation based on well-to-seismic ties, rock property analysis, and supported by seismic forward modelling
Constructing and populating reservoir models to support development and depletion planning, well placement, and the identification of drilling opportunities
Participating in internal and external peer reviews as required
Representing the organisation in licence meetings with external stakeholders, as needed

Qualifications

Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in subsurface characterisation
Graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant discipline
Proficient user of Petrel software
Fluent in written and spoken English
Experience working on the Norwegian Continental Shelf
