Vår Energi is seeking experienced Geophysical Specialists to join our subsurface team. Candidates are expected to work on multi-disciplinary projects and have a proven track record of adding value by delivering high quality seismic data and analyses. We offer exciting technical opportunities across our diverse portfolio of assets, using state of the art data and technologies such as OBN acquisition and processing, 4D, high-resolution FWI to support our future exploration, development and CCS activities.

Main tasks

As a high-end contributor to multi-disciplinary projects, you will be working to define and deliver high quality seismic studies which, depending on your experience and expertise, may involve:

 Seismic Acquisition:

Seismic acquisition (inc. site survey, VSP, 3D/4D) project manager: technical specifications, tender evaluation, planning, follow daily ops/meetings, HSE liaison, QC/QA of data, contact/reporting to authorities/fisheries

Seismic Processing:

Processing supervision including signal processing (including latest deghosting, demultiple techniques), velocity model building / FWI, depth imaging (including LS, RTM)
Seismic conditioning and enhancement: pre-stack gather & post-stack conditioning for AVO-compliant products using PsPro

QI:

• Seismic Inversion & rock properties estimation from seismic using Petrel (including Blueback plug-in), Rokdoc

• Rock Physics analysis and modelling, AVO/AVA, ML, 4D analyses using Petrel, Rokdoc, Geoteric

• Velocity model building & Depth Conversion

Qualifications

> 12 years of relevant experience as Geophysicist in service or energy company with experience in at least 2 of the 3 main categories listed under main tasks
Relevant experience from Norwegian continental shelf
Masters Degree/PhD in Geophysics or Geoscience
Relevant software competence, experience with ML, python is a plus
Fluent English written and oral communication skills
