About us

We are a leading independent Norwegian upstream oil and gas company, built on more than 50 years of experience on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. We have equity stakes in around 50 % of all producing assets on the NCS and are the 3rd largest oil and gas producer and one of the largest exporters of gas to Europe from Norway.

What to expect as a graduate within External Environment

As a graduate, you will be enrolled in Vår Energi’s graduate programme to build your network and take part in meaningful work from day one, such as:  

  • Providing environmental support across the full range of operational activities, from exploration and well operations to development projects and production
  • Assisting the business in ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, technical standards, and internal requirements
  • Supporting reporting processes, including data quality control and submission of mandatory environmental reports to authorities and industry frameworks (e.g., Miljødirektoratet, OGMP, CSRD)
  • Gaining hands-on experience in key environmental disciplines, including chemical management, waste handling, produced water management, discharges to sea, environmental risk and oil spill preparedness assessments, emissions to air (e.g., CO₂, NOx), and initiatives to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions

Who are we looking for

  • Recently graduated or graduating in 2026 with a minimum of Master's degree within relevant studies
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience after graduating
  • Fluency in both oral and written English
