IT and Digital Business Solution Lead

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced IT & Digital Business Solution Manager to empower Vår Energi to achieve their business strategy through adopting digital solutions in the planning and execution of drilling activities in Vår Energi. The ideal candidate will have a strong value focus and a background within oil & gas, with expertise in digital technologies and their application across the well delivery process. 

Main tasks

  • Lead the design and development of IT solutions that meet business needs, align with strategic objectives, and leverage appropriate technologies
  • Manage a team of architects, subject matter experts and business analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Collaborate with business partner, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business goals
  • Assess new technologies, platforms, and frameworks to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and cost-effective
  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline solution design processes, implement best practices, and optimize system performance
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of solution designs, including technical architecture, configurations, and operational guidelines
  • Identify potential risks in solution design and implementation and propose mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions
  • Ensure that solutions comply with industry standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Work with external vendors and service providers to evaluate third-party solutions and integrate them with existing systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Experience in IT solution design, architecture, or related roles
  • Proven experience managing teams and leading large-scale IT projects
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, cloud technologies, and enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.)
  • Experience in designing and implementing complex IT solutions across various platforms (on-premise, cloud, hybrid)
  • Proficiency with architecture tools and modeling languages (e.g., UML, ArchiMate)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
