Senior Operations Improvement Engineer

Work Location:  Stavanger
Job function:  Production
Application Deadline:  22.11.2026
Contact Person:

About the positions

We are looking for proactive individuals who combine technical understanding, digital competence and leadership skills to improve how we operate our assets.

The roles will drive AI adoption, digitalisation and continuous improvement, turning strategic ambitions and operational needs into tangible business value.

We have lead opportunities within:

  • Production Optimisation
  • Future Maintenance

You will lead the improvement agenda within the area you are, from identifying and prioritising initiatives through implementation and adoption in Operations. The roles support the long-term development of Operations, beyond individual projects and programmes.

Working with domain specialists, operations and Digital/IT, you will map workflows, define scope, develop business cases and recommend opportunities based on value, risk, feasibility and resource needs.

You will lead cross-functional delivery, challenge supplier proposals and drive decisions. This includes managing dependencies, ensuring technical validation and establishing ownership, training and support for operational use. After implementation, you will ensure value extraction and identify further improvements.

Who we are looking for

You understand both operational challenges and the opportunities created by digital technology and AI. You can translate needs into clear requirements, discuss data and solution choices with specialists, and judge whether results are technically credible and practical to use.

You combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You set direction, make trade-offs clear and bring people together around a workable plan. You take responsibility for progress, address obstacles and know when to seek specialist advice or escalate a decision.

Background and experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical discipline relevant for production optimalization, maintenance or asset operation
  • Typically five or more years of relevant experience
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, including scope definition, stakeholder alignment, supplier engagement and implementation
  • Applied experience delivering improvements using data, models, automation or AI, with an understanding of operational requirements and technical foundation
