Sr. Technical Safety Engineer
The Sr. Technical Safety Engineer provides expert support to the organization in all facets of Technical Safety. This role is crucial in ensuring that the company’s facilities are designed, constructed, operated, and maintained at an acceptable risk level. The role will ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations, adhere to industry standards, implement best engineering practices, and meet company-specific requirements.
Main tasks
Your tasks and responsibilities may include several of the following, depending on your professional experience:
- Support relevant company functions in areas of technical safety, process safety and barrier management. Conduct technical safety evaluations related to design, deviations, changes, and modifications for operated assets, brownfield/modification projects, Lifetime Extension projects and development projects
- Follow up that applicable risk analyses and risk/barrier management activities (e.g TRA/QRA, HAZOP/HAZID, SIL, LOPA, gap analysis, etc) are performed, and that design basis and assumptions are reviewed and updated in line with updates to regulations, new standards, and engineering practices
- Raise major accident hazard and process safety barrier management awareness across the company
- Review, follow up and develop technical safety/Barrier Management related documentation, such as philosophies, design basis, safety strategies, performance standards etc.
- Travel offshore as required to follow up relevant activities
Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience within technical safety
About you
- Good technical safety/barrier management knowledge (Experience with PSA regulations and relevant standards, e.g Norsok S-001, ISO 13702, IEC 61508/61511).
- Ability to communicate and create engagement within all organizational levels.
- Proactive mindset and able to drive change and improvement in the organization.
- Ability to work independently and ensure/provide decision making.
- Fluent in the Norwegian and English languages.
- Ability and willingness to travel offshore.
